Seeking New Library Director
Stanley Community Library is looking for a thoughtful and engaging leader for its next Library Director. Nestled in the heart of Idaho at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains, Stanley is a small yet busy town, particularly in the summer with recreationists visiting nearby mountains, lakes, and rivers. The library provides resources to almost 500 registered borrowers and thousands of additional patrons in the course of yearly operations. Services include a variety of programming, diverse print and electronic resources, and helpful staff.
Under policy guidance and direction from the Board of Trustees, the Library Director oversees all operations, activities, and personnel of the library. The hiring salary range is $20 – $25/hr (dependent on experience and qualifications). The average work week is approximately 20-30 hours, although there is room for schedule adjustment. Employees are entitled to state retirement program benefits (PERSI) and paid holidays. Vacation
and medical leave are accumulated each month. (See Policies, page 3.)
The ideal candidate, while being excited to live in a small mountain town, will provide positive and dynamic leadership enabling the library to serve the needs of the community in offering varied programs and resources. Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and management skills are necessary. A combination of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of this position will be considered in lieu of formal Library Science education.
See job announcement of the proposed work.
Position open until filled. First review of applications starts March 1. Work starts in April 2024. Contact us if you have questions: 208-774-2470.
