Create a Zine with Laura Feeney
Use Your Voice; Make A Zine
A “zine” (pronounced “zeeeeen”) is a do-it-yourself book. Originally designed to help keep communities safe, for the past 100 years people have been using zines to express themselves across a spectrum of subjects: music, skateboarding, mutual aid, recipes, travel, and so many more.
Join zine artist Laura Feeney at the Stanley Community Library from 5-6:30 PM July 17 and learn how to make a zine yourself. All supplies will be provided for you to make a six page mini zine. Participants are encouraged to bring a short poem, story, or other piece of writing to include. A small zine library will be available for people to explore as well and others will be available for purchase if desired.
Laura Feeney is a zine, textile, and embroidery artist living in Boise, Idaho. She explores ideas at the intersection of personal adventure and collective change. Her zines include: Cooking for Community, Questions for the Coming Waves of Grief, and #lookatallthesepotatoes. Past zine festivals include: Boise Zine Fest, Portland Zine Symposium, Los Angeles Zine Fest.
