Spring Planting
Saturday, May 13, 12:00-3:00 pm
Library Courtyard
Welcome to May! These warm temperatures have us dreaming of green grass and flowers, so we’re looking forward to our annual Spring Planting. We’ll provide seeds, soil and materials to plant herbs, vegetables and flowers. Please bring pots if you have them.
Read’n’Feed
Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo is the featured book for tomorrow’s Read’n’Feed for Stanley School 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Mountain Village will host lunch for the children, who will then watch the movie along with other related activities. Students in grades 6-8 are reading Homer Price by Robert McCloskey, and will have their Read’n’Feed at the library on May 11.
Reading Challenge Discussion
Tuesday, May 16, 5:30 pm
Community Room and Zoom
Our Reading Challenge group will meet to discuss the books we’ve been reading for this year’s Challenge: 12 Books Recommended by 12 Friends. Everyone is welcome to come talk about books, whether or not you’re doing the challenge.

We’re very excited to host Idaho Writer in Residence CMarie Fuhrman this month! CMarie is an author and poet whose work is rooted in the landscape of the West. She tells stories from the outdoors on her weekly podcast, Terra Firma.
Idaho Commission on the Arts will provide refreshments during the Meet & Greet hour. Starting at 6:30 p.m., CMarie will read some of her work and will talk about the Arts Idaho IdaPost pen pal writing project, which has helped participants investigate place through story. Learn more about CMarie here.
Call for Heirlooms
The library’s summer display will feature family heirlooms. Anyone can bring in 1 or 2 items to share. Get in touch with Library Assistant Liesl Schernthanner if you have questions or to drop your items off. We’ll take good care of them and return your treasures at the end of summer.
