Preserving Our History: John Buccuzzo
Thursday, January 25, 5:00 pm
Community Room and Zoom
Our second oral history program this winter features a 2017 interview with John Boccuzzo. Born in 1923 in Brooklyn, Boccuzzo enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1940 and was assigned to Stanley and Crouch.
The Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association (SIHA) has been working to digitize and edit the interviews they have been collecting for decades, and are now making them available to the public.
Great Gatsby BINGO!
Our friends at the Hailey Public Library created this fun Great Gatsby BINGO as part of Winter Read. Pick up a copy at the library, then return it when you complete a bingo and be entered into a raffle for a fabulous prize!
The library now has copies of The Great Gatsby to check out. We’ll discuss it on February 27. We also have the books that will be discussed at Winter Read events at the Community Library in Ketchum.
- So We Read On: How the Great Gatsby Came to Be and Why it Endures by Maureen Corrigan
- When Books Went to War by Molly Guptill Manning
- The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo
- Self-Made Boys: A Great Gatsby Remix by Anna-Marie McLemore
