Book Club: Hamnet
Our November Book Club read is Maggie O’Farrell’s celebrated novel, Hamnet. The book focuses on William Shakespeare’s wife and family when another plague was threatening humanity. The winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award, Hamnet is a luminous portrait of a marriage, a shattering evocation of a family ravaged by grief and loss, and a tender and unforgettable re-imagining of a boy whose life has been all but forgotten. Copies are now available to pick up at the library, and the discussion will be Thursday, November 18, most likely by Zoom.
Take It & Make It
November’s Take It & Make It craft project, available starting Nov. 8, encourages us to focus on what we’re grateful for. Pick up a kit at the library with all materials included to make your own gratitude leaves, and then create a garland or gratitude tree. Photos courtesy of Rhythms of Play.
