Access to the World through Books and So Much More
The Stanley Library is participating in a regional Winter Read. The Community Library in Ketchum, and libraries in Hailey and Bellevue are also participating.
This year’s selection is F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel, The Great Gatsby. Set in the Jazz Age a hundred years ago, The Great Gatsby explores themes of class and wealth, industrialization and change. Portraying a period of extravagance following a world war and global pandemic, it’s a piercing narrative on the hopes and disillusionment of the American Dream.
Copies of the book are available at the Stanley Library, and we will discuss the book on Tuesday, February 27. If you cannot make it in person, please join on Zoom.
The Community Library is hosting several free virtual and in-person programs around the book’s themes. Learn more at Winter Read Events.
